Definitely the right call to give it as much polish as possible.

I'm not even that big of a fan of the franchise but GTA6 is going to be the single biggest video game launch of all time.

I’m going to have to buy a new console just to play the game at this point. How do they miscalculate how long it takes to make a game by this much. Don’t they have some way to forecast these types of things?

Modern AAA game development just feels like an elaborate troll on the consumer base at this point.

GTA dev: alright guys, it’s still coming. *snorts suppressing laughter* Just a few more months!

I’ve become indifferent to it at this point because im an old curmudgeon, but I’d hate to be checking days off for this bastard. Agonizing.

I am hoping their incompetence and needing to push this date back makes it more likely this releases day 1 on PC... with how much of a development bill they have been racking up with no income to show... investors are going to want to see that phat revenue stream asap.

I imagine the biggest reason it’s taking so long is because current gen consoles performance is the biggest bottleneck. The game has to ship and be playable on hardware that’s equivalent to an AMD Rx 6700… a GPU that’s 5 years old and has no AI upscaling capabilities.

Getting an extremely detailed and next gen experience on dated hardware like that is a challenge.. just look at most unreal 5 games.

This is what you get when you let developers work off deadlines instead of real time production. Reminds me of union work.

This is the least surprising news I've heard in a while.

This is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time delay territory of a AAA game. That wait was painful.

At this point, I'm convinced this game is never getting released.

My oldest was 10 months old when 5 came out, a few more delays and he will be mature enough to play 6 at launch

GTA 5 online prints money. I don't think the investors are worried about a few more months for GTA 6 to come out.
