I was there Sunday. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and I haven’t seen any posts other than the specks and doves.

Do they still have the soft ice cream stand in Mer Rouge?
That place gave me a couple of really bad headaches as a kid.
We used to have relatives there. They all had to go up Red Hill in 1927.
Our family had it's own drama in Mer Rouge. My uncle owned a cotton gin there in the 60's, and owned all of the land as far as you could see on both sides of the hwy. going up to Bastrop. All of that cotton was his. Something his lawyer did forced him to sell everything. They kind of spiraled into a Baby Doll (1956) movie of their own, with my uncle playing the Karl Malden role of cotton gin owner.
