Can a sports agent get in a lot of trouble for spreading fake news?

For example say they instruct an employee to create an account here and start posting things to mislead people ,to benefit their interests or client?

Wouldn’t that be highly unethical?

Or is that the deep waters of “capitalism”

Or it’s “free speech”?

Member when Napier's agent falsely claimed that he turned down Auburn to stay at ULL? It seemed dumb at the time but i guess it worked. It put him in every conversation for every job.

No.

But it kills their credibility with the actual decision makers and would therefore be a poor practice for one’s career longevity.

No they can't. No one gets in trouble for "fake news" or false leaks. There is no accountability unless they defame someone's reputation or lie about someone that could harm them.

Unethical? Agents dom't give a shite about unethical. Illegal, sometimes. Unethical? Hell no.

I don't know what the rules are for agents
