Or perhaps it’s not a matter of Cajun or not. Maybe, just maybe, a state government with a long history of terrible government (and often criminal acts) enabled by a poorly educated electorate that doesn’t demand more, will always be subject to seedy politicians looking to take advantage.

It’s because Louisianans don’t demand better government. Has nothing to do with where the politician comes from.
