Anyone remember this show? Dennis Farina. The Miami Vice thread got me thinking about it. It has that song “Runaway” in it and it seemed to have a similar vibe to Miami Vice with the cinematography. I’m remembering it as a kid, but I thought it was so good.

Here’s the opening of the pilot. I can’t believe this was a network TV show.

Loved that show. I was just starting to learn to play guitar and my dad taught me how to play that song.

Well, there is a reason.. Michael Mann

Yes, I thought it was really good... I watched it a few years back after watching Mann's Thief... For whatever reason, I didn't watch it during the original airing of the series..

Yes. I loved it. Dennis Farina began his acting career while still a working police detective. The cast had him, Steven Lang (Avatar), Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs), Andrew Dice Clay, John Polito (Millers Crossing/Homicide: Life on the Street), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown), Joseph Wiseman (the Dr. No), and David Caruso (CSI but only two episodes of Crime Story). Absolute bad arse cast of characters.

Great. I'm going to have Runaway playing in my head all day.

Gary Sinise and Michael Madsen were in a few episodes, along with other Mann regulars.

Wait, that was Michael Mann too????

I had no idea and didn’t even think to look it up. Saw the Miami Vice thread and it caused me to remember Crime Story and it just felt the same.

Now I know why. lol. Should have looked up the director/creator.

That was an amazing show. My Dad watched it. I was real young but remember how good it was. Is it streaming anywhere?

Yes, it was very good, and Farina, as usual, was great…
