There’s just no way that the athletic department isn’t paying people to blast kudos to Verge to set the narrative. I refuse to believe that people are stupid enough to think he’s a good hire who will do a good job, even though this board and state are filled with idiots. This is going to be a fricking disaster

Is it being 30 years plus of experience in an athletic department that won multiple football NCs baseball NCs and a final four in men’s basketball?

This has been like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I keep hoping to be proven wrong at some point, but everything is playing out precisely as expected since Landry popped his head out.

I am expecting a very underwhelming football hire.

Is it possible to think that Verge isn’t a great hire but also think it’s not an awful hire? Cause that’s where I’m at currently.

I don’t understand why people would get excited or think the world is ending based off of this.

Yes it is and no they wouldn’t. We wanted Georgia’s AD, not their deputy assistant secretary to the assistant athletic director. LSU should never have an immediate internal promotion to a major position, ever, especially if that person has no experience in the role.

I hope im wrong but I feel the same way. From Landry getting involved publicly, and then getting his stooges on the BOS to promote his guy from McNeese (McNeese!), and now verge getting promoted. It's just cronyism and I expect to get a very disappointing name when they finally announce who the coach is.

None of these guys seems like they got where they are because they are competent, but instead because they know the right people and will do what they are told.
