This is definitely NOT the way you want to go out. The stinger is a 1/4 inch long, venom that can dissolve skin.
An American father and son have died after reportedly being stung by a swarm of hornets while ziplining in Laos.
Daniel Owen, 47, and his son Cooper, 15, were at Green Jungle Park near the city of Luang Prabang earlier this month when the incident occurred, according to U.K. newspaper The Times
Owen and Cooper were stung by hundreds of what appeared to be Asian giant hornets as they were descending from a tree with their guide at the adventure resort

In my list of top 100 ways I want to die, this falls at 8,239.

The guide apparently survived.

I think this is a 9/11-esque nightmare scenario.
I'd rather jump to my death.

If you are in that area, better know what the nest looks like:

When I was in first grade we were walking around the vacant lot my family was about to build a new house on. I stepped on a yellowjacket nest in the ground. Good times.

I'm with you, brother. Back in the 1970''s, I stood over a nest on a trail in the woods, wearing bell bottom jeans. Those MF's were circling around in them stinging the crap out of me.

It hurt like a bitch when two wasps ambushed my hand getting the mail out of the mailbox. I can’t imagine “hundreds” of stings.

Did that while hunting as a kid once. I thought I was going to die. I was like 6 years old and my foot got to be the size of a football. Never again. I respect those little bastards and understand why Georgia Tech made them their mascot.

Interesting that the city is named after the noise the hornets make as they kill you.

I'm thinking this was a bad idea regardless of the giant hornets.
