If I’m Frank Wilson, I immediately implement two changes.

1) MVB and Nuss are splitting reps 50/50 with the 1s
2) Gameplanning with a goal to get Berry twenty touches

If Nuss plays 4 quarters & Curne is out, we are in for another whooping for the ages.

Even with Weeks out, I was intrigued about this matchup assuming MVB was getting the reins. TF do they see that no one else outside of football ops is seeing?

Not that Frank was actually going to be in the running for HC, but if he doesn't change things up then it's no wonder he can't catch a high profile job.

If we're honest, he's just a bandaid until we get a coach like what happened after O got canned.

They see the players 99% more than you do.

I think everyone, including this staff, underestimated how much of a statue Nuss would be this year. He doesn't have to be Jayden Daniels but he has to be able to move in the pocket. He reminds me so much of Mettenberger.

That’s a given.

Less interested in Frank’s role here & more fascinated by the fact this is such an obvious spot to move on and try whatever but we are defaulting back to the very same hyperconservative personnel decision that most likely got BK canned midseason.

Nuss had over 4000 yards last year. He needs to be healthy and have our OL block way better. Pretty simple.

Yeah, this was also true when Booty started over Davey.
Was also true when Urban Meyer let Joe Burrow walk.

ETA: the point is not to compare Van Buren to those guys. It’s to remind you that sometimes football coaches are idiots.

The frustration is that he’s much quicker than Mettenberger. He just refuses to run

What I remember from August is that MVB is VERY inefficient at the position.

But Sloan was the problem. Nuss should go off for 500 yards and 5 TDs. Ni picks

I mean if we can be honest here Frank is a pretty conservative coach. He almost always holds young RB back from playing time until they can do everything he wants.

And 98% more than Kelly did.

Nuss literally cannot throw a football on a rope. He doesn’t look like a college QB this year.

He had 4k yards last year because for one his arm was healthy & for two we threw the ball 100 times per game. His yards per attempt were still horrible.

It’ll be different this week I’m sure

That’s fine, but Frank isn’t HC. He has nothing on the line.

You’re an interim coach with *4 games left, the next coming off a bye vs a top 5 conference opponent.

If ever there was a time to not be conservative, this would be that time.

I'd like to see him and Caden combine for 30 touches. You can figure out who the hot hand is during the game, but that will likely be Berry from what we have seen.

I think we crossed the “right situation” Rubicon a few games back tbh. I don’t get it.

I think it means if we are struggling running the ball or just need a change of pace. We could see MVB come in for a play or two at times.

It’s the change we were begging to see vs Ole Miss & other games that BK/Sloan weren’t willing to make.

Trust me, we don’t want to see MVB starting in Tuscaloosa
