I think Philly and TB are gonna run away with their divisions, but the other 6 are up for grabs. Around half the league I wouldn’t be surprised to see in the SB this year.
Crazy, I counted 14 teams, 7 in each conference:

AFC: NE, BUF, DEN, LAC, KC, BAL, IND
NFC: PHI, SEA, LAR, SF, GB, DET, TB

NFL seems to be the only league that's figured out the parity thing. Its truly incredible. Its why it's king.

You listed the probable playoff teams.

Giants have proven, just make the playoffs and you have a shot at a SB.

In years past, I could easily narrow the playoff field down to 3-5 teams and a bunch of pretenders by week 9. They’re all contenders right now.

Helps when you get to play the 2 biggest postseason chokers in the modern NFL on that run (GB and DAL)

Maybe for people who enjoy blindly stumbling through life.

NFL parody is forced.

Only so many franchise QBs to go around and sprinkle in "selective enforcement" from officiating and voila, you have parity.

I’d say it has much more to do with the short life spans of most players careers and the completely crapshoot nature of the draft, along with having way more variable positions than most other leagues.

They are just past the halfway point in the season. Things will progress for the better teams.

Agreed. The league with 7 different champions in the last 7 years definitely has zero parity.

Refs/Vegas I feel sorry for anybody that still thinks the NFL is real.

Another thing that benefits the NFL "parity" is the shorter season.

With just 17 games, the standings run closer together. An upset or two really effects the standings and teams are always within striking distance of each other.

You could include Pittsburgh and Chicago on that list as well.

And they force the best teams from the previous year to play each other and the worst to play the worst so it's harder to stay on the top or the bottom.

In the past you figured out which 3-5 teams are going to make a 14 team playoff field? Mid teams with some good luck round out the playoff field.

well that and the playoffs being single elimination unlike every other sport.

Interesting how quickly New England is back right after Bill B. leaves.

Maybe I should have specified. Generally, there are 3-5 teams that feel like real SB contenders by this point in the season. I put that number at 14 this season.

Been building towards this for a long time. This year seems a bit more skewed to the handful of good teams, a LOT of bad teams, and the rest mediocre.

I don’t think we should get too ahead of ourselves. My preseason Super Bowl pick was Eagles-Chiefs YET AGAIN and I stand by that even with the Chiefs not doing so great so far this season. Chiefs don’t need a strong regular season to make the SB. They have proven time and time again that they save their best for the biggest stage.

Yeah the Colts are a cute story in November. The resurgence of New England is a cute story. Sam Darnold is a cute story. But when it’s nut-cutting time and the chips are down in January do we really trust them to get it done in the big games? No chance in hell I would pick the Colts to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. Hell I wouldn’t even pick the Bills to beat the Chiefs even though they just did 3 days ago. Mahomes and Hurts are levels above everybody else when the games start to really matter. Championship DNA. It factor
