Alabama, Oregon, Indiana quarterback better than we have now? If so, we need to draft with the first pick. This is a quarterback driven league we don't have one.

This team need a major reset.

I wouldn't just trade to move down in the draft, I would trade our picks for future picks and completely tank this thing out.

We need alot more than a QB. It'll take years before we can compete and I don't care who the QB is. We have 5 1st rd picks on the line and they can't fricking block. This team is doomed for awhile. Don't look for it to get better.

I have long said until you have a QB it means nothing.

But this team is so far away from being far away that I think maybe you rebuild another year before you take a guy.

Putting a young QB in next year's situation might ruin him.

I think you kind of need to have someone at least nfl capable though or it’s hard to assess if the surrounding players are even providing a foundation for the eventual high draft pick qb.

I don’t think they are by far and away better than what we have already. The issue is you could sign or draft and QB and they would fail here because of how bad the team is.

We need to draft the player to build around for the future. WR, pass rusher, CB, S, DL, OL; we need it all.

And idiot Loomis overpaid for Vele. We didn’t need him and could use our 4th a lot more

QB will not be our limitation for a long time. Maybe 2-3 years. It will be hard to keep one healthy, even if we had a more legit starter. Shuck and/or Rattler are serviceable enough. I vote for riding with them. RB should be OK for a while, too.

We need to draft the best guys available for the wide range of positions where we have no talent and/or depth, or are old. D-Line, LB, edge, and DBs. Our O line should be way better on paper. But they suck. We probably need to draft at least one more guy for G or T. Hopefully the Moore Regime is better at drafting O line guys.

I hope we try to rebuild a stout D first. That will be the most bang for buck and can make a shitty team fun to watch because we can "be in every game" even with a crappy O.

everyone keeps saying the QBs in the draft suck but I would bet a lot that at least two go in the top 10. A lot happens between the end of the season and the draft. There are a TON of talented guys

Totally agree with you, I’m just not sure there’s a non-QB in this draft that feels worth taking at 1 or 2.

We need to get weapons in place in this draft, then get a QB in 2027.

Of the better prospects that can come out this year, Simpson (the best IMO), Mendoza, Arch, and Moore all have eligibility left. Sellers does too but I don't think he's any better than the last QB to come out from USCe and we see how that is turning out. Mensah is another interesting one who probably benefits from playing another year but has flashes of being really good.

Of the ones who will be eligible for the first time in 2027, CJ Carr is going to be a stud and Raiola is an interesting prospect that I am split on.

It'll be interesting to see how they all shake out.

The only problem with doing it in this order is that if the team improves next year and drafts more in the 10-15 range, you suddenly have to spend a TON of capital to go get a Qb.

Agreed. But, if nether of the guys on our roster are "the guy", and the rest of the roster is void of so much talent. Does it make sense to build the rest of the team in this draft knowing you'll find yourself in a similar situation next year.

Assuming the belief that the QB crop in next year's draft will be better, and none of the guys this year start elevating their play to show they have the ability to be a lot better than what we have on the roster

The flip side is you take one of the guys at the top because you "NEED" a QB and those guys turn out no better than how Ward looks this year, or one of the number of previous year's busts

If we knew for sure that we’d have a top 5 pick next year I’d say it’s a slam dunk to take a non QB this year. Totally agree the roster is devoid of talent.

I’m just worried that the team improves and then we’re in the much-worse boat of not having a top pick to get a QB and having to either be without a guy or trade a ton of picks to go get one. Having a top-5 pick is pretty rare. To me, if you’re there and there’s a QB you like, it’s almost always “pull the trigger”

Totally agree. Definitely don’t do it unless you believe in the guy 100%

You can't go into the offseason with any specific strategy on this, you have to evaluate the guys available and go from there

What if Shough gets better as the season goes on?

Let's say he doesn't.

Are you in love with any of the guys at the top? If not...

Then you take an elite talent or trade down. You HAVE to get a QB in FA that is looking for a redemption arc and see if he can do it, and keep rebuilding the talent on the roster.

This team might be at least 3 years away from being remotely competitive with any QB

Yeah that's the catch-22 of the situation. Just hate burning a cost control year of a rookie QB contract on top of not being sold on any of the guys coming out this season.

Hard to say at this point. I need to see more from Shough. He did some things I liked yesterday. Him losing the qb competition does still sit in my head.

We need to get better on 1st down and add more juice to the run game.

Lack of a run game kills the strong points of our receivers because safeties can just sit deep.

The Kendre injury was a killer.

Moore doesn’t seem to make things easy for the QBs. Watching a lot of NFL, you can see these offensive minds with plays in their stable that they know will work and can use in key situations. I don’t see that from us.
