Why is LSU doing things backwards?

Why is there more emphasis on the head coach search than the AD? The AD (whoever it is) is going to have to support the HC so it's better he brings in his own guy.

It's either LSU or state law, likely state law due to nature of position.

Well shite! Head coach first it is. It's going to make it harder to find a good candidate as HC unless he knows he has the support of the AD.

Wrong. AD is an unclassified position. Only classified positions have to be posted with the state.

I’d rather see them go all out for the best coordinators than even the best head coach. More bang for you buck, unless your head coach basically doubles as a coordinator like Kiffen or Saban

From what Blake said on AYS there's a lotta red tape filling the AD position.. has to be posted publicly for 30 days, etc. Its gonna take a while.. legally speaking, to fill

Then what are the Search Committees for? No Agent or Coach is going to trust a permanent coaching hire to an Interim Athletic Director. You wait the the month and a half due all the diligence required to secure a competent individual to conduct the follow on of the Search Committee
