I’d take Saban going 9-3 or 10-2 for next few years and getting some fight in this team

I want a national championship every year and I want a coach who can bring it. I also think Saban will not win a title here. He’s 74, would be 75. That’s really, really old to coach college football. But, do I think he’ll run a competent program and have great assistants? Yes. Do I think we’ll get our swagger back? Yes.
I’d take it over what we’ve had the past 6 years.
And, it probably sets us up well for the future.

Saban was almost always good for 11 & 1 while at rama jama. His age 74 reminds me of most at 64, so I would still expect his best. That said, though, with the SEC being tougher now, especially dealing with NIL and the portal, I’d be perfectly content with 10 & 2 and a playoff berth each year. But screw 9 & 3 you don’t get jack shite for going less than 10 & 2. Saban can get it done!

Saban isn't coming out of retirement and leaving gameday, taking on the headache of the portal and NIL and rev sharing, and being ok with 9-3.
And honestly that's probably why he's not taking the job. He didn't like the NFL for that reason. He retired at Bama for that reason. He likes to be the person to prepare young adults for the next step in their adult career and put them in position to maximize their value for whatever lies ahead, be it the NFL or whatever else comes after college. But now they're trying to maximize their value for the now and not necessarily the future, so his methods aren't as effective for the new generation seeking instant gratification.
I'd still like to see it happen because if nothing else the man knows how to put a staff together and with the NIL backing he would still be a relentless recruiter and with him no longer at Bama poaching kids from Louisiana, now being the guy at LSU it would be a wrap. He would be immediately successful, he just wouldn't be here for long because he would tire of it again pretty quickly imo but he would lay down a great foundation for the future after him which I think we need. But I'm not holding my breath, I think if he still wanted to be part of this new landscape he wouldn't have retired

We didn’t fire him after he went 9-3. We fired him at 5-3 and getting blown out at home with a championship roster - or so he told us it was.
Saban going 9-3 and recruiting and rebuilding the program and getting us solid again is worth more than a flash in the pan season. He’d probably do better than that and 10-2 gets you in the Playoffs.

???? …. Dude thinks 7-2, 6-3 in sec play is regularly attainable…. Have you heard they’re going to be 5 SEC road games? ??
