If we can’t get our 1st and 2nd choice, I’d like to bring Golesh here. OC of Tennessee during their 2022 season, and has created an impressive offense at USF.

Would rather him than Sumrall

Golesh should be miles ahead of Sumrall on the list in my opinion. He’s an impressive dude and has a crazy work ethic and a great offensive mind. Really solid option.

Idk why he’s being mentioned more? Is it just lack of years as an HC?

I think he should be high in tha 2nd tier of coacheS.

SEC OC Experience and he turned that USF program fast

they won 3 games in 3 years before he got there.

He was my “guess” on a “guess the next coach” thread.

Based on what? Honest question.

Sumrall has been successful every year at two programs, while Golesh is having his first really good year at his first program. Sumrall also kicked Golesh's arse head-to-head last year.

One of those promising coaches we could get on an incentive heavy contract for half of what Kiffin would cost.

Sumrall took over a team that lost 3 games the prior 2 seasons

Golesh took over a team that was 3 total games the 3 prior seasons

Golesh has been a coordinator
Sumrall has not (CoDC with White at Kentucky is a title only)

Golesh made USF instantly better
Sumrall hasn’t improved Tulane.

and i know Sumrall did a major turn around at Troy, I just don’t care as much about the sunbelt.

I think it’s pretty easy for even an uper CUSA level coach to tip the scales in the Sunbelt.

Exactly and hire would replicate the approach that LSU had when it hired Saban. Saban was not a slam dunk, can't miss HC, but he had the qualifications that LSU needed, a defensive stud. Golesh brings the same upside as Saban did, and on the offensive side where LSU needs major help.
IF LSU is looking for the best upside going forward for years, not just next year, GOLESH is our best option. GIve him 3 million and an incentive laden contract, and let him cash in big time for developing our program to be great year in and year out, and returning to the elite in college football.....every year, like Ga, Ala, Ohio State.

Golesh is a commie sleeper agent. Don't trust anyone born in Moscow.

Yeah, well Matt McMahon beat Todd Golden head to head in March Madness right before the two coaches took the LSU and Florida jobs respectively.

Everything Sammy said in his reply. I would add that Tennessee had better offense when he was there. They’re still good on offense obviously, but they saw a noticeable drop off in offensive production after he left.

The guy goes all in on what he’s doing. Go watch a few interviews with him and you’ll see what I’m talking about. If you haven’t already anyway. If he failed, it would not be due to a lack of effort, because he has a crazy work ethic and a massive desire to succeed.

Outside of Lane, I honestly think he’s one of the better available options that will shore up one side of the ball and not have to hit on both coordinator hires.
