Governor "Bobby Boucher" Landry now has 1 worry

I think that Governor "Bobby Boucher" Landry now has one worry - that Scott Woodward will run for Governor and Bobby Boucher doesn't have a buyout and the people of La would not be on the hook for any payment.
If I lived in La now, I would definitely vote for Scott over that clown and I am a life long conservative Republican.

My goodness. I wish I could say some of what you read on here is shocking, but the stupidity is almost expected.

SW has never held elected office in his life. He’s not running for governor of Louisiana

I’m Cajun and left the state in 1994. Had no idea so many LSU fans had such prejudice for a thick Cajun accent as this week’s event has revealed.

You think people are pissed off because of the way he talks?
People are pissed off bc whenever he opens his mouth he hurts LSU. Nobody gives a shite what he sounds like.

OP and evidence all over this message board this week disparaging the accent in addition to their disagreement over his actions.

Look, I grew up in Lake Charles. Everyone had an accent. I wasn't making fun of his accent, I was making fun of his intelligence and his lies. He lied on Wednesday and then double downed on Thursday and still said the same lies, on a national platform. You would have thought someone would have "prepped" him that he was wrong after Wednesday and before the second round on Thursday. Then, he parades the BOS and Verge to a press conference this morning and they have to correct his lies.

Yeah its definitely the way he sounds and not him turning the lsu athletic dept. into a shite show.

We’re probably in the minority among these yahoos on here but I agree 100% with you. Unfortunately, I still live in La.

Right. It’s the accent. Nothing to do with him running off a good AD and the actual things he is saying that are sabotaging any chances we have of hiring a great coach. Dear God I hope you’re joking.

I didn’t comment on criticisms on how he’s handled the HC-AD situation, I stated specifically what I’ve observed on comments about his accent. Focus on what you read.

Be better then, you certainly don’t sound like a conservative Republican. You come across like a leftish child.

The athletic department has been a pig show for a few years now.

SW sealed his own fate by his own actions. It was only a matter of time before he was gone; Landry’s involvement likely just expedited it by a couple weeks. As far as impacts to next hire, that’s purely your supposition. No evidence to suggest that; you should learn how to distinguish your opinions from what are facts and state accordingly. You’ll be taken more seriously.

What coach is going to leave his current job he’s successful in to come to a job that has a meddling governor calling the shots? A governor who thinks coaches would leave their guarantees for something non guaranteed

I think I sounded like a 65+ year Tiger fan. I don't see politics in LSU sports. This is not Republican or Democratic issue, it is an LSU sports issue. Politics have no place in the LSU sports arena.

Please provide an example of Landry “calling the shots” in how the LSU coach conducts his job. I have not seen that; that’s not what he’s done this week. He’s commented on adding accountability metrics to the compensation packages instead of the current metric of fogging a mirror. Seems reasonable. If that scares off top-tier guys who are just looking for guaranteed money, I would submit that’s probably not the coach we want anyway. Recently departed HC is Exhibit A on why that inadvisable.
