I think we've seen around 10 or so of these incidents.

Why in the world are they still coming after seeing what is happening to them?

I mean are many more actually getting through so they are comfortable with the risk?

Am I crazy or are these suicide missions just a part of the trade?

It's a very big ocean. Why do people hit up a bar for a few drinks and drive home buzzed sometimes?

We don't know how many are still getting through. And like the other person said, the ruthless cartel is probably not telling those boat operators what's actually going on.

Cartels are ruthless. They don’t care about people’s live, even within their own organizations.

I get that. But they are also losing millions in product I would think.

Unless it really is just a drop in the bucket.

They have no choice.

If we don’t kill them, the cartels will.

Kind of sucks in a way, but it has to be done.

it's a drop in the bucket. it's not like any mid to large sized city is ever out of cocaine, meth, heroin or anything else
and really it's not worth all that much in a boat in the ocean - the value comes when it arrives in the usa

They care about product.

These boats are just part of a supply chain, not the entire supply chain. They werent going directly from Venezuela to the USA without a fuel boat traveling with them.

Distraction. While we’re blowing up boats there drugs are coming in from a different angle.

Cartels in the past have informed on shipments they’re sending so they’ll be caught while they’re bringing in shipments elsewhere. It’s a business expense.

This is simple. It isn’t about supply chain or product or cartels. All of that has existed for a long time.

This is sending a message to the Venezuelan elites, … those who support Maduro … those who kept him in power despite the election results.

If they self-oust Maduro … then no further action be necessary … with some stipulations.

That actually makes sense. Feels like we are still in the early part of this "long game".

People’s families might’ve been kidnapped by the cartels. War is hell

This is where I am with this. I fish in the Gulf and it takes a lot of fuel to get even 100 miles out and back. Venezuela is a long way away from even the Keys with Cuba and Hispaniola being rather large obstacles between start and finish.

They must be transporting somewhere for a drop off point?
I would think our technology could track them especially as they came close to US Waters.......assuming these cigar boats are even trying to get to US waters.

Rand said the Caribbean boats were going to Trinidad and Tobago. I don't know about the Pacific boats, I assume a drop off in Central America.

Maybe the cartels keep it a secret from their runners?
These runners don’t get internet access so they probably don’t know what’s happening in the world
