Jeff Landry, Daniel Gautreaux, and many others in Lafayette have an LSU problem

There is a faction of people in Lafayette who truly do not like LSU. Lived there for many years. The worst were the ULL fans who were also bandwagon Bama fans during Saban years.
Whenever Gautreaux officiates LSU games, I see LSU getting consistent horrible calls. You’d think a Gautreaux would be a friend to LSU, but never seems that way.
Landry, the way he is carrying himself, truly feels like one of these aforementioned LSU haters from Lafayette, who would have no problem bringing LSU down a peg or two.
I overhead ULL’s AD one day say out loud at a pool hall basically he had no intentions of scheduling LSU outside of baseball, a school only 50 miles away. The only time we played ULL in basketball anytime recently was an NIT matchup, and I don’t think LSU has played Ragin’ Cajuns since 2009 on the football field. Pretty bizarre, but not surprising, as UL doesn’t want to get outclassed by LSU. They believe their best bet is to get them every now and then in baseball.
I felt the need to call out Landry, because I saw this way too much as a student at ULL for even a short time. LSU lives rent free in ULL’s mind, but LSU never thinks about ULL. Two completely different leagues. UL also gets offended when you call them ULL

USL agreed to be called ULL.
ULM should also call themselves UL.
ULM should also call themselves UL.

Jeff Landry is one of those coonasses/cajuns that's a Bama fan, isn't he? If you're from or lived in Louisiana long enough, chances are you know someone like this.

Indeed I do know several coonasses like this.
Landry appears to be one of these haters who will find any reason to justify what he’s doing, even though anyone else would probably think LSU being elite would improve our state.
Any outrage from Pennsylvania’s governor after firing Franklin? I don’t think so. I never hear anything like this occurring anywhere else, except in politically corrupt Louisiana.
Landry should be impeached if it can be legally proven that he has a bias against LSU, which many diehard Ragin’ Cajuns do.
I see right through you, Jeff.

This is spot on. I grew up there and went to USL. The anti LSU bias is there. I remember several professors actually taking up a whole class speaking about how USL always got shorted because of LSU.

God, youre dumb.
Landry loves LSU. I've sat and watched many a big game w him.
Same with DG..was at a meet w him Tuesday.
Both have jobs to do that are bigger than LSU.
Whats shocking is how idiots like yourself can't see that and only care if your precious fatass jackasses are hiring some unworthy clown, who doesnt want to be here anyway....and paying him 50M!
Ed O was costing us a fraction of that, and ge had a higher win % than Saban and BK. Let that sink in. Our flagship program is IN NO BETTER SHAPE, than when O left campus.
Its a colossal failure, and Woodward is to blame.

LSU never thinks about ULL? Seems like the obsession is mutual.

What's ULM have to do with this?

When Kelly started he didn't have enough players to fill out a starting lineup, you idiot.

It's not ULL.
It's the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHWESTERN LOUISIANA.

If Landry hated LSU he would have made them keep BK as coach

I was born and raised there and that is total BS. Almost everyone around there is LSU first. There may be a few fans that root for anyone but LSU, but you can find that in Baton Rouge. Jeff Landry does not dislike LSU. He dislikes when the university does really stupid stuff. I don’t know about Gautreaux. He seems more fair than most.
I personally know 2 families that are Bama/Ole Miss fans. And they are Louisianans, born and raised here.

Born and raised in Lafayette and the surrounding area. These people do exist, but like Covid cases or moderate Democrats, their numbers are greatly greatly exaggerated

Ah yes. The ole conspiracy where LSU fans demand the AD and coach fired and the governor makes it happen. He’s a plant!

This explains a lot.

Well, who you are is becoming clearer and clearer.

Then, Landry should leave LSU athletics alone.

What an assinine take. Imagine thinking the winningest active coach in college football was an unworthy hire.
quote:
Ed O was costing us a fraction of that,
Well, of course, his contract reflected that he was a bad coach when he was hired and he was fired when he reverted to form after catching lightning in a bottle.
quote:

Incorrect.
O 51-20(71.8%), SEC 31-17(64.6%)
Saban 48-16(75.0%), SEC 28-12(70.0%)
quote:
and BK.
Overall, but not in SEC play
O 51-20(71.8%), SEC 31-17(64.6%)
BK 31-14(68.9%), SEC 19-10(65.5%)
You are objectively wrong on 3 of 4 of these metrics; let that sink in.

If this hire goes south, there is only one person to blame, and it's your good friend Jeff Landry.

You are a moron. Grow up.

UL is so 2010s. It’s Louisiana now.
