So apparently UCLA doesn’t want to play at the rose bowl anymore?

Looks like they’re being sued by Pasadena as they’re trying to break their lease.

Why on earth would they want to move to a soulless stadium like SOFI? The rose bowl is one of the biggest perks of playing for UCLA. Seems like an insane thing for UCLA to do. Not that they have a great environment but I foresee this being like the chargers moving to SOFI as well and it becomes a completely flat environment no matter who they’re playing.

The Rose Bowl is iconic. The only reason to leave would be an on campus stadium.

Ask our friends on Willow Street how moving to the Superdome went.

For who? Cause the players aren't jerking off to the majestic mountain views during games like the broadcasters during the Rose Bowl.

So nothing will change.

I went to the LSU - UCLA game in the Rose Bowl a few years ago.
I enjoyed my visit to the iconic stadium (actually I didn't because the game sucked).
The setting is beautiful with the San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop, but the facility itself is a dump. There are no suites or any other frills. It is just a large set of stands. It reminded me of the old Tulane Stadium. The concession stands and bathrooms are in a fenced in area outside the stadium. It is an obsolete stadium in this day and age.

I am glad I got to visit though.

Playing and going to games at the Rose Bowl is a huge pain in the arse for players, fans, and students, but SoFi is soulless and not any closer

I felt the opposite. Thought it was great. I don’t need many frills.

I had zero issues getting concessions. I never noticed they weren’t “in the stadium”.

I’ll take a game at the rose bowl over a mega modern stadium 100/100 times.

I have a few tickets from the 1932 Rose Bowl game between Tulane and USC.

Sofi is closer and will attract more people to the games. Also because the stadium capacity is smaller the optics will be less embarrassing

The rose bowl is a dump. Imagine having to be there half your season. It looks good on tv and it has nothing to do with the season and you do not see the ghetto around it.

Its nice that in over 100 years, nothing has changed.

Same as it ever was.
