How did that last hire work out under John Boy. Maybe it’s time for a different approach.

One has nothing to do with the other....it was a stupid political stunt and makes the state look like a joke.

I'm a conservative republican loves trump loves lsu loves football and started to hate brian kelly.

I've never been more embarassed by a LA Governor in my lifetime than this bullshite Landry has long been doing and his recent escalation of doings of him thinking he's more important than what he ever was or will be. He's a political scumbag. frick him forever.

JBE stayed out of the search since he probably knew that politicians being involved just fuccs things up.

However, today the statistics appeal is very strong whether the politician is a functional moron or.....worse......Jeff Landry.

Brian Kelly didn't work out but that was a massive hire at the time. We got a perennial top 10 HC who had played in a Natty from one of the biggest brands in college football.

It obviously didn't turn out that great but that was a great hire at the time.

Kelly never fit in Louisiana. LSU was his retirement policy. And don’t say what about Saban. Kelly’s from Massachusetts, Saban’s from West Virginia, big difference.

I live in South Carolina and work in Georgia and I can say no one is laughing at his remarks. Most people I have spoke with think he is right about a lot of problems with college.

Republican or democrat, I don’t see how anyone could be down with a governor inserting himself so publicly in a college football head coach search.

College football is a mess. Worse than the NFL. Unlimited free agency, no contracts, no consequences. Billionaires throwing money around. To be truthful, traditional coaches don’t know how to handle it. It’s very difficult. Saban saw what was coming.

Everything he said could've been said behind closed doors.

He wanted to make Woodward look bad for his own personal gain.

A lot of the things he said about the contracts were right. You just don't do it in the way he did it.

I think it should blow over and lsu will still get a good coach but he handled it completely wrong.

Governor’s have always had input on LSU football hires. You just didn’t realize it. You don’t think the CEO of a company is gonna let a lowly manager make a decision that affects the whole company (state of LA) that much make a decision without input. LSU head coach hires have always been very political.
