5 year contract. Value to get Lane is probably close to 13 a year, so let's account for that.

Mississippi laws don't allow state/public employees to get more than 4 year contracts, so 5 or 6 gets the deal done. Add an evergreen clause that extends this contract by one year for every playoff appearance. Big bonus or salary bump for every semis/natty appearance. Say he goes 4 years into a 5 year, 64 million dollar deal. You fire him in the middle of his 4th year, which means you're on the hook for 11.7 million dollars. Not nearly as bad as BK's and it's a realistic deal that could poach Lane imo.

We roll the last two years through OMAF. Kiffin is currently on a 6 year deal.

Kiffin will not agree to any buy out under his current 55 million to get fired.

Ok, but the beginning buyout here would be 65 million lol

Buyouts decrease as you approach the end of your contract. Here, Ole Miss, doesn't matter where. This is accounting for if he came here and was just average for 4 years, didn't earn an extension, and was fired with one year remaining.

You’re correct.

Except he had an 8 year contract (now 6). We do 4 through the state and 4 through the foundation.

Cant believe people still think this is a thing

We found a way around that years ago. He currently has an 8 year contract (6 years left on it)

Lane Kiffin's current contract (i.e. the one in place this minute) at Ole Miss runs through 2032 with a current annual salary of $9mil. Various incentives / bonuses are also in place. Also, his contract, if fired, does not have a duty to mitigate so he would get every penny under his buyout if fired, regardless of what he does next.

A 5 year contract from LSU isn't going to do it, unless the money is absolutely stupid. Especially since the rumored OM offered extension would be around $12-13 mil annual salary.
