Him up at A&M. Woody is good for signing washed up coaches and acting like he’s signing prime coaches. Woody is a snake oil salesman and some of you are too damn foolish to know.

They had to beat ULM with an interim coach to make bowl eligibility

Jimbo signed his extension in 2021. Scott Woodward left for LSU in 2019.

So how did he “sign him up” in 2021 again?

That and the fact that Woody isn't making this hire should have prevented this OP

He hired him the first place which was a mistake.

Woodward is a lazy AD who makes lazy hires...Very linear thinking which doesnt seem to go beyond "has been successful before, people know his name. Sign him"

I'm not talking about Jimbo's extension.

He had just won a NC, dumbass. And TAM was pretty lame so it was a huge hire for them at the time.

I don't care if Woodward is AD at LSU or not but the way governor Landry acted in his press conference yesterday I'd be shocked if any AD or HC worth a crap will want the LSU job now.

There was no reason for that speech even if he thought that way. He should have taken the high road and just said something like: "We are evaluting the entire LSU system right now and we will do what is best for LSU's future".

No reason to straight up lie and lambaste Woodward publicly.

I am an Independent that votes "Republican" 99% of the time, but Landry has been nothing but a disrace as governor.

83-23 - Jimbo's record at FSU in 8 seasons plus a natty and 5 top 10 seasons
45-43 - FSU's record since he left.

Jimbo was successful at FSU. He was willing to leave b/c FSU wasn't investing money in the program like others. By all accounts, Jimbo was a great hire for A&M at the time.

This is hilarious. It’s also the very same board that delighted in themselves over the concept of Jimbo Fisher as being LSU’s next head coach not that long ago.

ND was about to fire Kelly? I seem to recall the criticism being that he left them before the playoff selections were made when they had a chance to be in them.

So ND was going to fire a coach on the verge of the playoffs?

So, 2 years into a FULLY GUARANTEED 75 million dollar contract? Did Jimbo waive the FULL Guarantee For the extension?

so much of a mistake that the next AD gave Jimbo a raise and an extension.

Going back even further many LSU fans wanted Jimbo fired as our OC in 2006. I recall this forum referring to it as the run and punt offense.

He hadn’t just won a natty. He’d just went 5-6.
