Two of the largest cloud systems in the entire world have gone down causing big problems in the last two or three weeks? Should we read something into this occurring, other than coincidence?

I'd say is notable, but not necessarily in terms of possible cyber attack (yet anyway). What's a bit more concerning is with how so many businesses have moved assets to the cloud now, this affected alot of people.

It's a great example of the savings and efficiencies we will realize as AI puts more and more people out of jobs.

I’m sure they’re testing something to put into play when the ‘28 election rolls around to make sure people can remotely vote.

AWS affected most of America. “Azure”

Neither were attacks based on what I've seen.
The threat here is either incompetence or laziness. Both of which could end the same way as an actual attack.

I don’t know enough about IT to know if this is a stupid question, so it probably is. Is it possible the good guys intentionally sabotaged it or made it seem “down” to see what foreign adversaries would do to try to exploit an outage? A sort of trap?

MS is having to work with the amount of applications that have to call to the Azure platform. They have to fix this sooner than later and you’re seeing the changes pushed to production. Looks like the test wasn’t a great one.
In short, The biggest app hosting platform(AWS) and the biggest Active Directory hybrid accounts management platform(Azure) are trying to expand what they do. I don’t think it’s an attack of any kind, currently,

It's possible an approved penetration test or red hat exercise could cause something like this, but something on this scale would never be intentional.
