Started his career and spent time at LSU, before moving up to AD and doing good things at New Mexico and now Houston. And he has an eye for finding coaching talent.

You had me at "Eddie Nuñez for new AD".

The guy is a little bit of a douche. Yes, I have dealt with him in person on multiple occasions.
Another managerial mouthpiece that is a product of university politics.
Ex basketball player, claim to fame is his UK experience.
My take is we should have someone for an AD who has actual business sense, not someone developed in the fantasy world of collegiate athletics.
Keep doing the same things with these types, keep getting the same medicore results.

All of this. I worked in the athletic department when Eddie was there. We hung out a few times. He is an OK guy, but he absolutely should not be the AD at LSU.
I was dying with laughter on Sunday when someone said that Michael Bonnette was calling the shots. Zero chance.
The reason I got out of college sports was first the pay is actually significantly lower than many people realize, and secondly, because it is exactly as you described it “a fantasy world.”
Most of the people who work in college athletics would get eaten alive in the actual corporate sector. Some of these folks who people think “dedicated their lives to LSU” are actually the worst kind of bureaucrats that we would complain about if they worked for the government.
The only guy I ever met at LSU who was incredibly impressive was Herb Vincent.

I'm not in the fire Scott contingent, but if they do, I am definitely Team Nuñez.

The future AD is going to be some cat from McNeese.

My source is saying Nunez will be the next AD and that we will be looking at a 2nd tier coach.

Spot on.
Bill Franques and Herb Vincent were genuine and good people. A couple cool compliance folks.
College sports jobs are some of the absolute worst, insanely long hours for little pay and the few at the top cling to the position until they die.
Eddie Nunez has quite a few skeletons lurking that were bad pre me-too in addition to a pompous dick who oversaw shitty construction on both the new Alex Box and the basketball practice facility…im also pretty sure he hired the women’s tennis coaches who brought the NCAA to town snooping on all sports. He was Joe Alleva’s boy, no thanks.

I can’t imagine anyone other than a Landry yes man wanting to become AD here for the foreseeable future based on what we’ve observed the past week.
