Where is Austin Thomas going to fit into all of this?

It’s an interesting and evolving dynamic with GM’s in college football today and it will be fascinating to see how this process plays out with Austin Thomas. Nobody thinks Thomas is going to have a lot of juice in the coaching hire (right?) but hopefully Thomas will play a part in this process and be empowered to work with the new coaching staff. Feels like LSU needs to empower its GM to stay on top of the changing landscape in CFB.

Hes the one calling the shots. Or at least has a prominent seat at that table. Welcome to the new age of College football (for better or worse).

Austin Thomas left Kiffin and Ole Miss for LSU, so I wonder how their relationship is.

Since Thomas has gotten to LSU what exactly does he do?
Handle LSU’s portion of the NIL and decides which players on tge roster get what?
What about the other NIL?
What about evaluating HS prospects, does he do that? Does he decide how much NIL they get?
What about prospects in the portal, does he evaluate them? Give them NIL?

thomas handles all of the NIL and portal. He oversees all talent evals and who to go after with input from the coaches of course
he also manages analytics
and he absolutely will have a lot of say in who the next coach is.

He seems to have always been in BK’s ear, on the sideline and during the ballgame. Strange since so many people say he was just NIL and player/ portal manager.
