I know it's usually not the first name, but it seems extremely obvious this time around.
He has connections here unlike Riley, and if Austin Thomas is the guy with primary input on the hire, I don't really see how it isn't him.

It makes sense and that’s what worries me. His “Home” post today was interesting, would be insane if he left now.
But also, Lane would 100% post something like that and dip lol could be saying it’ll always be Home etc..

He probably will be looking for a job after new coach takes over unless it’s Kiffin. Woodward made Kelly hire Thomas back. If Woody goes so does Thomas more than likely.

I'm a bit concerned about the family angle, but his daughter (now dating whit) shut down Auburn in 2021. I'm sure she'd be in favor of moving this time.

Then you probably payoff Baker and a lot of the defensive staff for Golding
Hire Drinkowitz and you retain the defensive staff most likely.
Not saying Drinkowitz is who we shoud hire, just pointing out that based on your premise one could argue Drink has more pieces in place at LSU

She’s going to grad school next year… she wants to be with her Whit.
