What SHOULD happen with the coaching search

People keep bringing up Saban or pulling coaches from their alma mater (Brent Key, Clark Lea, Jeff Brohm, etc.). Why don't WE create this? Why don't WE get a fiery alumni that loves LSU and is so passionate about bringing LSU back to glory like Kirby did for UGA?
In today's game, we need a young guy who can connect with today's players. Brings fire. We don't need the "homerun" hire (Saban). He didn't have as much success at Bama in the NIL era and doesn't want that anymore. Also, he's 74 Friday. You have him for maybe 2? 3 years?
If we miss out on Lanning or Lane (likely), let's not spend $15 mil a year. Instead lets go get someone who loves LSU or go get Sumrall or a young and up and coming guy that brings fire to the team. Sumrall beat the hell out of Northwestern because they wouldn't let them wear a certain jersey. That's someone I want.
If you got a Kelvin Sheppard he could bring the intensity and work with Blake Baker to get the defense right. Then you go get North Texas OC.
To sum it up, yes I'd love Lane or Lanning. However, Saban wouldn't be worth the $20+ million. That's a fairytale. Let's create a Kirby or a Clark Lea or Jeff Brohm. It's a different era.

We’re not hiring a HC with no HC experience

I guess we should hire Coach O back then

I like this take. In my opinion LSU should try and grab a promising coordinator (like Kirby) who wants to make a name for themselves.

Yea we're LSU. Not some NFL team

If that’s what SHOULD happen, why are you not involved?

Kelvin Sheppard has had half a season of inheriting a Super Bowl caliber defense.
He has arguably the best leader in the nfl as his HC and boss.
He has done literally NOTHING to warrant being handed a major job. How about the guy actually turn around a struggling defense or build SOMETHING before he is handed the keys to the kingdom.

Lolwut? Were our only choices to keep BK or hire an unproven guy?

Would love that. Would love to bring in Honey Badger for some type of role, obviously nothing major since he has 0 experience coaching but just having him on staff would be amazing.

So promote Kyle Williams to HC?

Kirby smart, Dan lanning, freeman, Ryan day, etc were unproven.
The P4 coordinator route is a solid option and to say otherwise is so dumb. Especially if it means choosing a G5 guy

Baker is getting a HC job after this season.

There is one coach that meets all the criteria most crave on the Rant, and that is Alex Golesh, and nobody seems to know who he is or cares.
I'm telling you he is exactly like Nick Saban when Skip hired him. Saban was D guru, and Golesh is an O guru. What do we need the most?
He meets all the qualifications we can come up with and he would be half as expensive to get and his longevity with LSU could be many successful years.
IF we hire another BIG NAME and give out another retirement balloon to a retread, LSU has no insight about college football in the present environment and LSU will never win anything again. JMHO
