‘Goal of being a drug free community’

A local city and its elected officials stated that they are working on this.
What is the point of even spending time on something that will never happen? There is 0% chance that any city will ever be a ‘drug free community’.
They could have just as plausibly stated their goal is to move City Hall to Neptune.

It’s pretty easy to be a drug free community but nobody is ready for that discussion
Drugs have always been around and were easier to get at a lot of points in the past but we didn’t have addiction problems like we do now
It’s almost like taking away all the fun jobs like coal miner and washing machine manufacturer and moving a bunch of foreigners into the town and destroying everything people cling to for comfort like the family, church, etc makes people turn to drugs

Why not at least try something new. it is way better than these cities that are promoting drugs, homelessness, prostitution, etc.
Give some people hope instead of trying to mock it. Will it work, absolutely not but how awesome would it be to have a place where you could actually walk down the streets and don't see the human zombies bent over on a bender.

Do you have the stance on "crime free"?

Well, that is a good point. I am likely being too cynical.

Understood, we all get that way sometimes.

Congratulations. You just successfully figured out why Leftism always fails. You can govern man. But you cannot transform the very nature of man through government.

I guess we should stop trying to be a "murder free" city as well. What is the point of spending time on something that will never happen?

Kill all the dealers....all.of.them. No mercy, total destruction. The addicts will move or die.

Here's something i find disturbing. A couple weeks back, after the shooting at LSU, a thread was brought up of how to stop this crime from happening. Everyone acknowledged the problem that correlated with the shooting. The stink of weed permeating campus is a problem everyone agreed to. Many potential solutions were brought up to stop this, and a lot agreed. However, the second someone said, "ban pot on campus grounds" the potheads went into an uproar. The degenerate drug users KNOW that drugs lead to violence. They acknowledge it. However, if you dare bring up "ban pot" then the potheads become strict constitutionalists.
If a fricking dirt drug has such a hold on you, that you will accept a certain amount of violence around families at a football game, then YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

We've all seen how well decriminalizing drugs have worked in major cities. When you bring up the zombies on city streets the potheads state, "you can prove a correlation"...
99.9% of the homeless problem is due to drugs.

thanks to stoner losers like you, you're probably right, tell me what do you find the most attractive aspect of your addiction?

Is it bad that I have 0 sympathy for the ones being killed by unexpected fentanyl laced products?
