I dont get the hype. Mediocre record in a weak conference. One boom year....maybe, season isn't over. I can't help but think this would be a terrible move for LSU.

If it happens I'll root for him to kill it here, but he isn't impressive to me at all. What am I missing?

I think people considered it a monumental task to shift from the gimmick O that GaTech was to a modern offense

So it took a minute to rebuild the program and transform it into something modern.

I don’t know I don’t follow Tech

Do you watch the games??

The product on the field has improved every year he's been there.

At Georgia tech

The majority of ultra successful coaches have some humble years at the start of their careers.

By your logic we would’ve never hired Saban.

Nick Saban at MSU:

Overall record: 34-24-1
Big Ten record: 23-16-1
Bowl record: 0-3 in his three seasons with bowl appearances
Best season: 1999, when the team finished 10-2 and ranked fifth in the AP Poll

He has Georgia Tech - GEORGIA TECH - undefeated.

That said, much of the success - just like Clark Lea - is due to their QB. I'd like to see what happens to both of those teams once those guys leave. Look at Deion, as an example. Did pretty well with Shedeur and Hunter, but with them gone, the ship is sinking fast.

I see he barely won against Clemson, Colorado and Wake Forest this year.

He’s a GT alum, he’s not coming to LSU.

Georgia Tech is a terrible program. Anybody that can get them winning is worth a call.

I’m not going to argue for or against him, but if you can’t understand why his record started the way it did, and is now trending upwards, then you’re probably too stupid to offer any type of opinion on this coaching search

Let the professionals handle it

He has a good QB what can he do without? Anyone remember Aggie after Johnny left?

Name a coach that does good without a good QB.

His record is very similar to Saban’s record at Michigan State. Key took over a shite situation at GT and turned it around. His teams have consistently improved and he is at a school where they still care about academics. Plus he was an assistant under Saban and has the grit to reinstall the physicality that defined LSU for the past 20 years and that was lost under Kelly. I don’t know if he is the right guy or not but he deserves a damn hard look.

Don’t think you realize the absolute dumpster fire he inherited at Georgia tech

This is ridiculous revisionist history. Haynes king was seen as a 5 star bust when he left tech he rejuvenated his career under key. They also upset a top 5 Miami team last year with their backup qb

So you’re holding him to the standard of winning at a shitty program without good players?

Makes sense

The idiots on this board would find a reason to reject Jesus Christ as head coach. Nobody is good enough.
