Turns out, Notre Dame was never the problem — it was BK all along.

Didn’t they start pumping into resources because he scorned them?

According to Brady Quinn, yes.

This is disingenuous victory lapping from Notre Dame fans. They say thanks for taking Kelly now but were absolutely offended LSU hired their coach in the moment.

frick them

Since he left, the Irish have won a CFP First-Round game, the Sugar Bowl, and the Orange Bowl. Also, made a natty appearance.

Well yeah, those 3 opponents had like 5 losses between them, outside of their loss to Notre Dame.

Notre Dame also had more talent than Indiana and Penn State, Georgia had two regular season losses plus a backup quarterback to boot.

Notre Dame was stuck with BK, LSU saved them, he was capable of beating up ACC teams and normally winning 10 games a year. The administration showed no interest in Firing him after the 8 loss season in 16 or the death of a student in 2010. You can question Notre Dame all you want but they are better without him, and most of the smart ND fans were not sad or butthurt when LSU stole him.

BK went to two title games and is the winningest coach in program history.

I just wish he could hire coordinators at LSU the way he hired Freeman.

Kelly made the BCS national championship along with the 4-team CFP twice, neither of which Freeman would have accomplished so far. Freeman also got handled in the national championship last year by an Ohio State team that would not have kept it within 3 scores of 2012 Alabama, 2018 Clemson, or 2020 Alabama.

Notre Dame is objectively not doing better than they were with Kelly.

They gave him an extension like a year before he left.

We owe LSU a thank you. You woke up our arrogant admin and made them realize we need to change. They dump resources in like crazy.

The 8 loss season was sandwiched between (2) 10-3 seasons. 3 years after that 8 loss season he would make the 4 team playoff.

This notion that Kelly's tenure at ND was anything but good is stupid. He took over a shite ND and made them a national title contender.

What change? All you have is a black Kelly. Y’all have won nothing and you’re not in the hunt this year either. Even with a weak schedule you guys can’t win. What are you even talking about ? Hell if not for Kelly, Freeman would be way worse than he is and he’s pretty fricking mediocre

Yes ND was stuck with thim because the AD and Administration were happy with 10 - 2. Just enough to keep the money coming in.

Meanwhile, you'll go 10-2 this season if you win out.

Lol Notre Dame is still the problem. They'll play a soft schedule every year, make the playoffs, and get blowed out by one of the big boys.

Notre Dame didn’t win shite with BK or afterwards by the way. They play cupcakes and lose big games regardless of who coaches them.
