Is Kiffin saying “money isn’t an issue” a good thing for LSU?

if money isn’t an issue and he said he will never make a decision based on money (his words on Pat McAffee), wouldn’t this benefit LSU? They could either offer less than they originally thought or maybe backload it like Moscona mentioned (like the Dodgers did with Ohtani).

I think it’s good for LSU.

Yes, but that’s if he’s telling the truth

Did Sexton also say that money wasn’t an issue?

He may like where he is personally and professionally and feel like Oxford/OM is a good place for him. He is a god there. If OM makes the playoffs. He is set for life there like Bianco

Sure, but he also might get to the playoffs and realize that’s the ceiling there.

Kiffin just having some fun I think.

I would be surprised if he left but he may have other motivations.

Kiffin is the happiest man in the country right now. He already had the Florida job to leverage. Now he has LSU to create a 3 way fight between Ole Miss, Florida, and LSU. Hell, I bet Jimmy Sexton is on the line trying to get Auburn to fire Freeze so he can create the biggest bidding war of all time. And if Sark chooses to go to the NFL, holy shite!

In the end, Ole Miss is going to move heaven and earth to make Lane the highest paid HC in the country. Particularly if he gets them to the CFP in a "down" year. He's not going to go deal with Florida's and LSU's bullshite when he will be loaded (financially) and happy in Oxford.

The best thing LSU can do is just use this as an opportunity to drive Ole Miss's cost of doing business way, way, up.

He doesn’t care about it, but his agent does.

Yeah I don’t think LSU needs to back up the brinks truck for him, and we shouldn’t be worried about Ole Miss offering him more $ to stay.

Ultimately if he wants to go to LSU, then he will. I don’t see why he would leave Ole Miss though.

He can go 8-5 in Oxford and be fine.
You do that in Baton Rouge & you’re on the hot seat.

I think the deciding factor will be recruiting/NIL & is LSU really ahead of Ole Miss in that department. Maybe Austin Thomas is the difference there?

That’s what he said, but he really means a decision based only on money.

Money is always an issue. It’s not the only issue though.

If LSU offers and Lane wants it, he'll be here, but he's not going to take less than other schools will offer him.

Nothing anyone of significance says publicly matters until the contract is signed. Misinformation and outright lies will be plentiful.
