Does anyone have any info on what the cause we would fire Kelly for is? Mascona said last night he’s heard rumblings of them trying it. Someone mentioned the Greg Brooks jr. stuff, and Mascona said they’re were other things but wouldn’t go into detail. Does anyone know anything?

I get that, but is that a fireable offense?

If it was with a staffer or student it would be.

The rumor is it’s his realtor. Which, while morally wrong, seems in no way a for cause offense.

LSU probably just needs to steer clear of the for cause card, unless it’s something that’s a slam dunk.

Not saying he has one but many contracts for coaches, executives, etc have a “moral turpitude” clause. A ton of grey area about what that includes but it is a catch all for bad behavior.

And since LSU knew about it before he coached his first game, claiming the morality clause now would be pretty embarassing. If we had Mike Priced his arse, that would hold water.

You talking about saving 50 plus million lol. You spend 4-5 mil litigating it if you have to for the chance to save that kind of cash all day every day. It’s not 10 or 15 million we are talking about. At the very least use it to negotiate a settlement of 50% of what is owed

And poison your ongoing coaching search in the process? Ok if you think it’s worth it.

It seems extremely unlikely an affair would justify termination for cause if the person isn't a staff or faculty member.

They'll pay BK his entire buyout. If not, you can forget about hiring an established coach.

It’s just gossip that comes out when a guy is run out on a rail. You don’t magically find some unrelated cause a day after a blow out loss.

That said, LSU might have something that BK would prefer not be made public, and that could help motivate him to settle on a number lower than $53 million.
