Young energetic, pretty good on his side of the ball, cultural fit, up and comer.
Will be super cheap to pair with Mike McDaniel type OC.

He could be retained as LSU DC. The defense was playing well before the team quit on Brian Kelly

We didnt buy BK out for 50 million for Blake Baker.

I remember when LSU fired their Head Coach and hired a defensive coach from his staff.

I remember 3 current former Kelly DCs that are currently in the top 10.

Ehhh. Playing well before Ole Miss and then teams watching Ole Miss film. Weeks being out didn’t help. Nor did Perkins running indiscriminately around the field and missing tackles.
Coaches are responsible for filling those gaps.

Yea, we won a national title then immediately followed it with the 2 worst years in the past 30 years up to that point.

No thanks, he’ll be lucky if he gets retained by the new HC

Ole Miss is one of the best offenses in the FBS

Team didn't quit, Perkins went rogue after Whit want there to keep him in check.

Ok. Does that explain subsequent disasters and lackluster performance and the completely inability to defend against a mobile QB?

quote:I've never seen a player with a reputation built entirely on a single game. Perkins has yet to play at a high level and dominate a single game since that Arkansas game his freshman year. Forget about a string of games or an entire season. He's clearly an exceptional athlete, but he's either not bright, lazy, or both. That play against Vanderbilt when we stuffed their back at the goal line only for Perkins to stand there and watch the guy score through second effort is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen in an LSU game.

No, Baker needs to go too.
He cannot scheme to even marginally slow down a decent mobile QB.

The argument could be made that Bakers defense is worn out and depleted at this point due to playing so many snaps.

I'll take Kiffin offense with a baker defense

Baker is good. I hope they retain him. If you think anything else, you're fricking retarded. I would love Elaine kiffin offense with his defense
