Not sure why I'm seeing some of y'all saying we should hire coordinators from the NFL who have no recruiting experience or CFB coordinators who have never run a program from the top. We're LSU. We hire top tier experienced head coaches. Get out of here with that.

Yeah.

We are so much better than Georgia, Oregon, Ohio state, Oklahoma, Clemson, or Texas.

Yeah I’d hate to have Kirby smart or Dan Lanning or Ryan day. Would much rather have Gerry dinardo or Brian Kelly.

So you’d rather hire a HC who hasn’t done shite rather an elite up and coming guy?

In this day and age, you’re better off going the coordinator route that’s elite on one side of the ball

And isn't Lanning one of the names being floated for the LSU job? After being a head coach?

Lol the fact that Lanning is being mentioned shows how delusional some of our fans are. Even Kiffin is probably a pipe dream. Go back to 2021 and you’ll find a few of us on the board were screaming that we needed to go with Kiffin or Lanning over Kelly. We were shouted down by the most on here saying no we had to get an experienced coach.

You need to get those guys before they go to Ole Miss or Oregon, not from ole Miss or Oregon. Especially because we don’t want to be tied to the type of contract it will take to lure them.

I would bet most coach’s would not want to follow in the footsteps of the greatest CFB coach of all time.

They should be on the business of hiring goood coaches no matter where they are found.

LSU wouldn’t have hired Cignetti. They wouldn’t have hired Lanning.

What does that tell you.

(Also they hired O. A DL coach)

Woodward agrees with you and it landed a 53 million dollar buyout

Turning around and hiring another top name coach for 100 million would be like getting divorced and getting married to your rebound after dating for a week
