If the buyout is too much, then when does talk about Scott Woodward start?

Who’s fault is it that were in year 4 but still have a $50M buyout? How egregious is that?

Scott has to go. He cannot be trusted to make the next hire.

If we have to stomach BK’s vanilla arse another year, then SW needs to be shown the door at least.

I understand if we can’t raise the money to dismiss Kelly and his entire staff this year, but we certainly have the money to dismiss Woodward. That move should happen the moment a new president is appointed.

I think if you’re at Woodward, you’re only option at this point is to go out and spend the money to find the absolute best offensive coordinator available who has head coaching potential. If the team still can’t get right next year under Kelly, you may have to promote that guy to being the head coach when you fire Kelly. The only way you’re gonna be able to get a Quality coordinator to come here it would be to guarantee them three years.

Scott should be gone. If we look at what he did so far

He gave O a massive extension, which paying him a lot wasn’t a big deal we had just won a natty but the contract didn’t need the insane buyout in it because no one was coming for O.

Then either pushing or approving the insane Bo pelini contract.

Then we have the will wade issue, other schools told the ncaa frick off, Scott bent the knee because it was family over LSU. Then he bungled how he told the team, then bungled the coaching search. Scott then comes out and says his year 0 shite and despite a last and second to last finish and no tourny he brings MM back.

The BK hire was puzzling, the guy had never gotten over the hump and never coached in the south plus he has the off the field baggage. He puts us in a contract bind and BK proceeds to make irrational and stupid hires that everyone knew wouldn’t work.

Scott also led the failed NILSU stuff buying ads in time square and what happened was LSU was caught with its pants down as NIL changed.

Scott should be able to raise the funds and if he can’t it’s his fault and he should go.

Like another poster said, “does A&M regret getting rid of Jimbo”.

We’re past firing an assistant coach or two. Kelly has got to go, and quickly.

After what happened last night I’m not sure we can afford to keep BK.

The fact Sloan isn’t fired yet this morning is pathetic

If Woodward is retained, we’re definitely signing James Franklin to a 15 year contract

I don’t disagree with a thing you said but I would add - whatever you do don’t screw up what we got with Kim and Jay

Years ago coaches and their agents would argue that they couldn’t recruit unless they had at least a 4 year contract. The theory was kids want to know who they are going to play for will be there. This doesn’t matter in today’s college football with transfers every year and NIL money. There is absolutely no reason for 10 year contracts, you’d be better off paying an even higher salary but rolling 2-3 year deal. Also, you used to need a couple of ace recruiters on staff even though they sucked as position coaches, nil changes that as well.

When it comes to the Kelly and McMahon hires, Woodward fudged… but what about the men’s baseball and women’s basketball?

Just trying to be objective

Jay was a great hire

Kim walked here and we are over paying for the results we are getting in a sport that no one cares about

He’s made some really good hires.

And who was really available that coaching hire season. Elko, Cristobal, Rhule, etc???

But yes the contract is awful

Woody has to get Kelly to retire and move on with a modified buyout or he will be gone- that is his only hope to stay

Woody could care less because it’s not his money.

Give anyone the freedom to offer blank checks and they will get almost anyone that people can think of. That’s not skill and not a good AD.

He’s simply the guy that goes out and gets the big name irrelevant of fit.

Woody had the house vs O and we paid him out a full amount. Woody is easily the worst at this
