I can’t stand the man.

However I think we can’t afford the buyout. Even if we could we shouldn’t follow the trend because unless you have a Saban nothing is guaranteed. We’ll hire another coach and they will “need time” and we may still end up in the same spot 4 years from now.

I think we invest that 50 million in the future rosters, better offensive position coaches and what ever else we will need to have a recruiting advantage for years to come. (Facilities)

future rosters

The roster will be funded first. Then there will be new offensive coaches.

In that order.

You may have a point because there really isn’t an option to take over from BK. Kiffens is the only proven guy and if he chooses UF it might be an option to just sit back and evaluate the next up and coming coachs

“53 million”

Jeez people its not a lump sum.

Its paid monthly till 2031 pending BK taking another job.

If he is let go, the buyout will end the second another team hires him.

But yes, I don’t think you fire him this year unless you have Kiffin ready to sign

It's the only option. Firing Kelly now would be dumb. Firing him without a coach ready to step in would be idiotic. Unless Saban or maybe Kiffin is banging on Woody's door, they're not going to fire Kelly.

The logical thing to do is bolster the offensive coaches and pay money for next year's roster. This is what college football has become.

Yeah, and maybe the insanity of coaches pay starts to settle a bit. But make no mistake Kiff will be making north of 13 million per next year wherever he is.

People on here about croaked when we paid Ed $17mil on his buyout. Imagine the melt if we pay a guy 50+ to leave and then dont have the money to buy the luxery items like Delane, Haulcey, Gooden, Cooley, etc or we have to get bargain basement coordinators.

It is a whole different thought process firing a 12 year incumbent coach than a 4th yr coach. But we are not the only crazy ones out there. USC is ready to get rid of Riley and they owe him more than we owe BK and staff, Clemson owes Dabo more than we owe BK, FSU owes Norvell $59mil...

My thoughts on LSU have moved to salvage BK by getting a new offensive staff which is way more prudent than firing him. The turnaround time and cost is way better. We had great offense with BK and Denbrock. We had shite defense with BK and House. Now we have Baker and it is much better. The defense trashers here need to pound sand because they dont see that our offense is sooooo bad that our opponents get 30-40% more opportunities because our offense cant stay on the fricking field. So if we can optimize our offense and defense at the same damn time we can succeed.

If the admin is confident in ‘’a guy’’ then they should go after him. They’re gonna need to make a splash hire and right now only 1 guy fits that.

They are going to keep him for next season. Maybe he gets lucky and blindly hires a better o-coordinator and position coaches. I mean a blind squirrel and all...

I completely agree with you. You fire Kelly in this era of college football on the back of one bad buyout already and you can turn into Tennessee before Heupel or Florida of the last 20 years really quickly. The problem is certainly Kelly, but more so the ridiculous contract Woodward gave him.

If I were making the decision I’d keep Kelly due to the cost of the buyout.

That’s why the AD will make the same decision.
