Halo: Campaign Evolved (2026)

Coming to Xbox, PC, PS5. 4 player co-op and 2 player couch co-op. I guess no multiplayer though.

It’s been about five minutes so I suppose it’s time for Xbox to trot out Halo CE for one more round of remasters.
I suppose Todd Howard has gotten the ear of the Xbox execs, post Bethesda acquisition. “It worked for Skyrim!”

Maybe they should be evaluating what made it a landmark game and trying to replicate that?

It will def sell a lot of copies. Also a good way to soft reboot/relaunch the franchise. Although I have absolutely no faith in the people running the franchise to actually do anything worthwhile with it.
People have noted this is basically this generations seeing Sonic on Nintendo.

This remake was basically confirmed last year... if they do not have a "surprise announcement" of 1 or more future titles at the end of this tournament I am going to be very disappointed with them.
They should have at least called it Halo: Campaigns Evolved and committed to giving 1-3(reach and ODST) remakes in UE5( and PS users) with a plan to retcon all of 343s work and pick up after Bungies masterclass.
They really should just retire chief then focus on new games in Halo universe, Halo Wars 3, an RPG set in halo universe, a battlefield/battlefront style game, i would love something like shadow run with races etc, I think the competitive multiplayer should continue to be free live service.
The franchise is not in a good place, which is shame because infinite is a really fun game.

They need to put people in charge of the franchise who know how to make good games instead of relying on cheap nostalgia.

Not remastering the multiplayer is criminal. Unpopular opinion: halo CE is the best multiplayer. Pistol separated the men from the boys and you were always dangerous upon spawn. I'd love for them to give it a graphical upgrade and re-release that too.
