Good lord the entire series is one huge bore fest, you don't care about any characters at all, even down to Crosby who ends up cheating on his wife in a human moment

I usually love ww2 stuff. I watch tons of ww2 docs. But i kept falling asleep on this show.
I wanted band of brothers in the air. But it's not even The Pacific in quality.
I'll still finish it but not in a hurry to.

I enjoyed it for what it was. I think it’s probably difficult to do the same things that the other shows did when you basically have crews of 5-8 or whatever going out for missions several hours at a time and then otherwise come back to barracks

I didn’t care for it at all
No rewatch interest for me

I could not get thru it when it first came out. Think I stopped around episode 4. Nothing will top Band of Brothers. The Pacific held my interest. Masters of the Air was boring and the actors portrayal of the people make me not want to care about them.

Absolutely incredible story but managed to make a mess of the story and force fed actors not fit for the role.

Right. Band of Brothers was mostly a bunch of uggos who could act their asses off. This show went the other direction.

I told the writer of the show near 10 years ago, he was barking up the wrong tree.
He went out of the way to pick the unit with very high casualties, low morale.
The 100th was tail in charlie in the formations for the most part and that is where you have the highest loses in the 8th Air Force bomber groups.
The show should have been about Zemke’s P-47 group. They started out as fighter protection for the B-17 and later became a fighter bomber group.
There are many great stories about the group and men.
The P47 is a flying tank and with 8 50 Cal browning's it could make any enemy target junk in seconds.
Just to let you know the writer and I got into it about the direction he was going with the show.
Also. at the end of Band of Brothers Pacific they lied when they said Snafu never told anyone of his war stories, and i pointed out to him I had heard them all by the time I was 13, he didn't like that at all. I had one story Snafu told us confirmed in a book that came out around 2008, the one about the wire layer falling asleep in his tent and a battleship shell going through it. (he lived and was still asleep when the men checked the tent, oh and the shell land only about 100 yards from the tent when it went off)
