We have had a spending problem for three decades. The end.

The biggest issue is that we never get rid of ANYTHING. We just keep adding programs.

That and DOD’s procurement debacle. A not insignificant portion of the debt is sucked into the Pentagon’s failures in the past twenty years. The Navy in particular is a total procurement disaster. Zumwalt class that doesn’t have a primary weapon, tens of billions on the LCS’ that have the survivability of a 12 foot bass boat, the new frigates and SSBN’s that are already a decade behind and tens of billions over budget despite being based on existing designs, etc.

The Army is no better. They spent a decade developing the Booker, a useless platform that no one asked for. Then sent it production only to cancel it because it didn’t have a purpose.

Trump is the first president to take meaningful steps to address the deficit and debt in decades if not more.

If you're trying to slam him for the debt, you're ignorant

Democrats think cutting our biggest driver can’t happen.

I don’t know much the national debt has to do with this. The majority of Americans have zero concept of fiscal responsibility. It’s only getting worse with Gen Z. Live fast, die young went from drug addiction to materialism in 15 years

So you expect the government to be any different, even though they are Americans in elected positions?

Human nature overall in todays society is all I’m saying

We need to really take an axe to defense spending. Not permanently. But for awhile.

Meaningful?

Where's his budget?

Wild take considering this is his second term and he did nothing meaningful to that end in his first term.

In fact, he made it quite clear that fiscal conservatism is dead.
