He had a .743 win percentage at Notre Dame playing much easier schedules. What did people expect?

I don't think people are mad at the win percentage

He's a really bad gameday coach. He's too scared to bench players too, citing experience.

He's clearly winning nothing and we really should've been more curious as to why Notre dame fans were happy

The issue is with the most talented roster hes had in 4 years, solid recruiting classes, and filling every portal need he asked for, hes staring down a 7-5 or 8-4, season. In year 4 he has his worst offensive line. When boosters handed him Moore and Thompson and he only needed to develop 3-4 other guys over a 3 year stretch of recruiting. Hes failed, the oline is the weakest part of the team. And this was a year you have clemson, Florida with horrible teams vs their avg, arky / Florida fire their coach, and all you have to do is go 3-2 against ole miss, vandy, atm, bama, ou and your a top 5 team. Seasons dont gift themselves like this often. He mishandled nuss injury too, so we didnt even get 2 games of seeing if mvb could be an asset in red zone/ short yardage sets, against la tech/ sela.

I’m sure there’s a long list of coaches with a better win percentage (that LSU could have hired)

Kelly was better in year 1 than year 4. Not a good trajectory.

He can’t make a 12 team playoff at LSU

fricking sad

Orgeron could manage that

He was something like 54-10 his last five years at ND I think. And finished top 5 in 3 of those seasons. That's what people expected

That soft schedule at ND propped up or inflated his win percentage

Meh, Domers are delusional.

Why were they happy to see him go yet are also happy with a dude who's doing the same things?

Three Service Academy rent-a-wins, add Central or Western Michigan, Purdue, Rutgers, Boston College, Miami(OH), Cincinnati, might get lucky with Penn St, Florida St, or Mich State, then mail in USC, Miami, Michigan and the bowl game

What’s Kelly’s win percentage against ranked teams? Against top 10 opponents?

I expected him to turn lsu into bama quite honestly. Thought that it was a big splash hire and given that the two previous buffoons who coached here won as much as they did, that Kelly would make LSU as consistent as Ohio State and Bama

ETA: boy was I wrong

This is true

Freeman is pretty overrated tbh. Good Xs and Os coach but loses 2-3 games a year, nothing crazy.

I got 2 DVs within seconds.

Do you guys not know that LSU AD is trying to control this narrative.

I can give many examples. Look up some post history and see recent accounts that support.

I didn't understand the fawning over him last year and the folks pretending that Notre Dame had taken some big step forward suddenly because they won some playoff games.

They wouldn't have even made a 4 team playoff because of their G5 loss, luckily for them, the playoff had expanded.

They beat Indiana and Penn State, both teams they were favored over and had more talent than. They also beat Georgia, who had two regular season losses and a backup quarterback. I believe they were also favored in that game.

Similar to James Franklin. Yeah, he had some playoff wins but they were vs less talented teams in Boise State and SMU.

Then when Notre Dame played an actual better team, they got beat bad, as usual. Ohio State took their foot off the gas in the second half and it ended up looking closer but they had no shot.

I'd probably trade Freeman for BK straight up because of age, but take age out and I don't prefer one to the other.

I didn't expect that, I was just hoping he'd keep us around 10-2, 9-3 and be a real contender every couple of years.
