I’ve never seen a coach go from such a high to such a low so fast. I’m starting to believe he is intentionally trying to get bought out.

Clemson used to have a huge talent advantage. That’s not the case anymore. And he was blessed with back to back elite college QB’s. Things are wayyyy different now.

Plus no Venables.

They have two elite d line prospects and Klubnick was a heisman and number 1 pick contender coming in to the season. They’ve just underachieved bigly this season

Allegedly. Watch the games and you barely ever hear their names.

Klubnik was overrated and they have the same shitty Oline/running game problem that LSU has.

By far the most negatively affected by NIL and the portal. Newspring Church money doesn't go as far as it used to.

Clemson had a great run, but you always knew they were heading back down to earth.

Clemson isn't some upstart program that caught lightning in a bottle. They are a traditionally great program (top 10-15) with a fertile recruiting base and a watered down conference. It was reasonable to assume they would maintain success. Their decline is a bigger story than many are making it out to be.

Good point. Even if they were making competitive NIL offers, they’re hamstrung by being in a conference guys don’t want to play in and that is putting them behind financially

It’s been very steady and gradual.

2018: National champions.
2019 Lose national championship.
2020: Lose in semifinals.
2021: Don’t make the (four team) playoffs.
2022: Lose to USCe for the first time in eight years. Get blown out by UT in bowl.
2023: Fail to win 10 games for the first time since 2010.
2024: Get embarrassed by UGA in the opener, lose to USCe for 2nd time in 3 years, back into expanded playoffs they didn’t deserve to be in and lose by two touchdowns to Texas.
2025: 3-4 with wins over lowly Troy, UNC, BC.

When Yabba Dabo has equal talent as his opponent, he’s not very good.

the advantage isn’t what it used to be, but it’s not like he has an average acc roster

I’m very curious what level of program will offer him when the day comes.
