Do you even bother putting out feelers for Saban?

Do you make the call and force him to tell you no?
Is he even marginally affordable?
I would think that if he had any interest at all in coming back, LSU would provide a great “redemption story to end with” scenario.

He doesn’t want to coach in this era anymore. The kids would respect him at first but for how long. It’s all about show me the money, not how can you develop me to be the best player and man to succeed in football and life.

I think it would have to be an absurd amount of money, along with a role in the administration. Maybe a future AD or something.
I don’t think it’s out of the question but I do think it’s a Hail Mary

Can’t really blame him.

No. Saban doesn’t want back in because of NIL. We need to go after someone under 50.

I’d offer Saban with idea that we are anti NIL and we’ll cap players at certain amounts. You want to play here, here’s your max per yr. You want to be here or you don’t.

I get that and agree. However, if he came back to LSU and had success, he could retire as a golden god in two places.

Let alone somewhere where he’s already reached the summit and helped build into a contender.

CFB is mercenary football now. Old style development coaches don’t want anything to do with it.

Mike Tomlin would be someone I would call. I think he would be great at LSU and might be looking for a different challenge.
Edit. Nvm. He makes 16 million a year. I can’t imagine LSU matching or going above that number annually.

Disagree. If anything, Tomlin was built for the old game where it was about development of the man + the player. With NIL, he’d probably blow a gasket due to entitlement.
