The president can't lower capital gains tax. That would be Congress.

In 2026, mfj Cap Gains were slated to be: 0% @ < $72,500; 15% @ $72,501-$450,000; 20% @ > $450,000

Instead, they will be 0% @ < $96,700; 15% @ $96,701-$600,050; 20% @ > $600,050

So he lowered them substantially.

This is where you are wrong. Congress didn’t pass shite into actual law during the first term, and it appears they won’t for this term either. It’s all executive orders that can be erased as soon as a new president comes in.

If you haven’t noticed the trend here, you are blind. The republicans don’t actually want to pass anything. They’re just waiting him out at usual. It’s pathetic.

Then as POTUS, you use the bully pulpit to point out the tyrant Democrats who refuse to allow American citizens to keep some of their money.

Our Legislature has already abdicated the majority of its role to the Executive. We now govern by way of the Executive Order more often than not.

With people advocating for a presidential administration to wholesale ignore judicial rulings we could be seeing a shift of some of its role into the Executive.

Very interesting times we are living in with this experiment we have going on. A growing number of people seem to be okay with consolidating power and authority to the Executive Branch while at the same time increasing the power and scope of the Federal Government. So-called "Conservatives" find themselves in an odd position.

Do you even Thune and Johnson? The congressional Republicans have not passed a single bill to codify into statutory law one of Trump's EOs. You think they're going to do something to further the MAGA agenda like pass a capital gains tax break?

Remember one thing: there is nothing Republicans hate more than having to actually vote the way they campaign.
