Arguing with a friend about if it's harder/more competitive to be an operator at a refinery or LNG plant.

Wondering what you guys would say.

Oh, Geaux Tigers.

Like asking what is the hardest event at the Special Olympics.

We're all just so proud when you can show up.

Little better definition of "harder/more competitive".

LNG is probably harder to get into. May be a bit easier right now because of Venture CP2, but all things considered, getting into LNG is harder

Say If I put my resume in to every plant in the area. And my resume is white guy with 5 years experience of being a pipefitter and a Process Tech degree from Sowela.

What plants would most likely turn me down?

Plants/refineries don’t just constantly hire operators. The hardest one to get in is the one that isn’t hiring right now

Impossible question to answer. A large majority of corporations have a third party do a first pass screening of resumes and I really doubt they would tell said third party, "throw out all resumes of white dudes".

Be better.

Put your application in at the ones with openings, het hired and get some experience, if you don't like it, apply to another plant with higher pay.

This is the current operator job outline.

Lol whats possibly hard about being an operator? A bunch of fat idiots sitting around tearing shite up. If I owned a plant I would have a some e-techs and a few guys that could turn a valve in case an actuator malfunctioned. There is no bigger group of worthless crybabies in the world than operators.

The hardest job to get in LC is probably Cheniere.

Lyondell next to Sasol for plant operator standards is very hard to get into.

If you ever had DWI any point in your life you can't get in over there.

Literally anyone could do it. Literally.

And if you get fired from an operator job you really have some thinking to do.
