What’s going on with KC Chiefs 1st rd draft pick, Josh Simmons?

He had some red flags leading into the draft, but I don’t remember anything serious or major character concerns. Mostly some questions about his practice habits and work ethic.
No one can confirm if the Chiefs even have a full picture. A number of people close to the organization believe the team is largely in the dark.

He's not just the Chiefs 1st round pick. Despite being a rookie, he won the LT starting job.
Our backup has been doing well though. Veach said he is handling the situation, but it sounds like serious family matter is at play, as in someone close to him in his family is on their way out. Apparently Mahomes has been in contact with him, but he doesn't want to share any details out of privacy respect. He did say he has been praying for him and his family though.

They're keeping it pretty tight lipped what the issue is. Hopefully he gets whatever help he needs. He was starting to play really well but our backup did well against Hutchinson so that was a good to see. Last year our LT situation was basically a turnstile.

Didn’t he go awol and the chiefs didn’t know anything about his situation until after the game Sunday? Like he didn’t show up for the game

I think the questions surrounding him were more to do with work ethic, as opposed to his love of the game.
He was labeled as someone that loved to play games, but didn’t always love some of the dirty work required to be a complete lineman.
