If you have traveled a lot or lived abroad, see places in movies that you have been seen

Do you say to yourself BEEN THERE?
Watching One Night in Bangkok, and it made me do it.

Yep. I love seeing places in movies I've been to or going to see places I know from movies/tv. But I also like seeing places that have great historical meaning and import.

I used to… but now, one of my kids will always ask, “have you been there?”

One of the reasons I wanted to walk out in the late evening when visiting Prague was because of Mission Impossible.

Yeah I've been to Trafalgar Square (28 weeks later and others) and DC (countless films). The coolest place is probably the Bonneville Salt Flats in western Utah (Independence Day, Pirates At Worlds End, Worlds Fastest Indian).

Reminds me it's time to another In Bruges watch. I love that movie.

one of the coolest ones for me is Wadi Rum in Jordan. tons of stuff gets filmed there and i was able to spend a night out there once and do a jeep tour. pretty cool.

I only agreed to watch Pitch Perfect because I thought it would be cool to see spots around LSU's campus and then wound up liking the movie

Not film, but I just had lunch today at Mr Beef which was the site of the Original Beef of Chicagoland in The Bear. Pretty cool to eat there as very little was changed for the filming of the show.
For movies, I was in Bruges a few years ago and spent a lot of time walking through the town and actually went up the tower that features heavily towards the end of the movie

Does the trolley station from Demolition Man in San Diego count? If not I can name others…of importance

I visited White Sands NP in New Mexico with the wife this summer and I immediately knew they had filmed Young Guns 2 there.

Actually stayed in the hotel in the movie. Phenomenal by the way, Bruges is one of the best places I’ve ever been to.

I'll blurt out "been there" and the wife rolls her eyes.

I feel you. My time in the military and working for the government along with personal travel been to over 70 countries. I make it a point when I can to see places in movies. We were in Europe one year shortly after Da Vinci Code was out and visited many of the locations in London, Paris, and Rosslyn Chapel.

We went to the New England states last Fall and made a special trip to visit Mystic Connecticut, simply because the wife wanted to eat at Mystic Pizza after watching the movie years ago.
It was actually quite good.

Not abroad, but I was in East Glacier Nat’l Park recently and thought how familiar it looked. Well, turns out the opening scene of The Shining was shot on the Going to the Sun Road and St. Mary’s Lake.

Quoting The Rock on my recent tour of Alcatraz was quite entertaining.
