Desoto County, MS basketball coach sentenced to house arrest for raping student

Lindsey Whiteside was a high school basketball coach and youth pastor in DeSoto County that had sex with a female minor. She was sentenced this week to only 3 years of house arrest. This represents an abhorrent double standard. If a male basketball coach had sex with the same female minor there’d be people talking about locking him up and throwing away the key, castration or worse.
To make matters worse, a member of the DeSoto County School Board, Michele Henley, literally sent in a character reference for this child predator, seeking leniency. I don’t know when it became a joke for women (if they are white and cutish) to diddle minors. To be abundantly clear, my point is not that men predators deserve leniency, it’s that people like Whitehead don’t lest we make a mockery of the whole damn system.
