There's 2 ways to look at it. Moore and Thompson will be gone to open spots next along with the OL being bad so that should give him opportunity next year. He followed Atkins here

His recruitment was weird. After committing to us he basically tweeted that this was on the FSU coaching squad for firing their O line coach at the time.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's back in the state of Florida come next year.

The redshirt has lost its value. By RS someone, you are essentially thinking there is a chance this guy will spend 5 years in college AND all with your school. Jacobian Guillory is the exception, but timing and injury were a factor. If Thomas can help you at all, play him,

Please tell me you know the coach in question, Alex Atkins, is on staff here. If not, then what the hell are you talking about? If he doesn’t leave, Thomas likely doesn’t leave.

Yes but I just meant I wouldn’t expect to see him against Vandy, A&M, or Bama. I think it would be a good sign if he travels to Vandy
