Bigger NFL dumpster fire Jets or Browns?

This is easily a low point in my life as a Jets fan.

The browns have a win on the board, a good defense, and made the playoffs a few years ago

Jets
Browns have a decent defense and the best QB possibly in league history waiting on the bench

Browns have a good coach

If it makes you feel any better, the Jets are the best 0-6 team of all time

Jets are by far the worst on field product.
Browns have some good defense, good young skill players (Judkins , Fannon,) and a decent coach in Stefanski. The Watson deal just totally fricked them over badly.

Browns have a great defense. Jets have about couple of really good players.

Both make every stereotypical mistake that are the hallmarks of losing franchises.
Chasing splash hires and free agent signings. They build their teams counter to what actually sustains success, they chew through coaches and front office staff, they have no long term plan or team identity. They can't even get enough right to sustain mediocrity.
Right now, I'd say the Browns are in a better position because they play great defense and have a solid coaching staff top-to-bottom. The Jets have roster issues on both sides of the ball and a new staff just trying to figure things out.

Yeah the Browns are a Top 10 defense at worst. #4 in overall yards per play and #1 in yards per rush. The points they give up are an indictment on the offense hanging them out to dry
The 13-10 GB game is a good flavor for who they are. They’re way better than NYJ

This is the Browns issue! That takes a few years to overcome due to the loss of draft picks and Watson sucking at football.

Watson is going to consume $81 million against their cap next year. What an insanely bad deal.

I have for some reason watched two Jets games this year. They are one of the worst teams I've seen in a while. Justin Fields is so freaking bad. He thinks about passing for about .005 seconds and then is immediately looking to run. Tyrod Taylor is the backup and he ain't going to win you many games but I'd be calling for him if I was a Jets fan. Fields is so much worse than i thought.

There's a reason the Steelers offered him just under $10 million a year to stick around and after Jets offered more and Fields agent reached back out to the Steelers their response was "that's okay, we're good".

Garrett Wilson just hyperextended his knee and will miss a couple of games. If you thought Fields was bad before..

Good point. Garrett Wilson is a beast but sucks he has such a dogshit QB to work with. Fields absolutely blows.

Jets.
The Browns aren't that bad. They are decent QB play away from being a playoff contender.

For further entertainment. If the Browns were to cut Watson their dead-cap hit would be $172.3 million this year and $135.4 million in 2026. This is a team with about $12 million in free cap space.
So, they have to keep him on the roster and off the field for this year and next year or else their cap will be consumed by him.
They kept restructuring his contract and converting his contract to signing bonuses to avoid the cap hit each year. Next year they don't have any options left and have to absorb it. After '26 they're finally clear of him.
