Looks like everything from this past weekend caused a response.

We shall see what kind of changes are made in the next two weeks.

A change that I've had this year...

The traffic going into campus, in my opinion, has been worse this year than the traffic post game.

I've parked in the same lot for almost 25 years, with my dad and now with my sons. For whatever reason they decided to not let us pass through Dalrymple and Highland and we now have to flow throw South Campus and Highland to get to our lot.

My issue with that is the lack of notice. I don't recall seeing any email saying that we were restricted to certain entry points and the official map doesn't even show parking pass colors for whatever entry point. In fact, it shows that orange AND blue lots can enter at either location.

Know someone in the President's Office and they say the phone has been ringing non-stop. People have had enough.

Good. It’s insane it’s been allowed to get to this point in the first place.

So, he responded to you already? About parking or the "Highland Block Party" problem?

I told y'all. Good Job to everyone that is finally contacting LSU Administration and not just complaining on a message board.

With today's technology there has to be a way to simulate traffic flow:

Pick 4 options
Solicit input from season ticket holders
Go with the winner

Re-visit as another notion or two might emerge, repeat

Traffic is part of going to the game. There is no quick, easy solution.

Oh I hear you, I really have no problem with how traffic is handled other than the lack of notice to the paying party (me).

It will always be wild, no doubt about it. Only going to grow and grow.

Nope, this is a mass email. They had to address it, I'm kind of surprised they got something out before lunch today.

There are high-dollar donors who are pissed and are talking to LSU admin.

The letter sent today was pure window dressing. Hopefully more news this week.

I disagree. Go to other stadiums, nothing comes close to how terrible LSU is. T-town, Ole Piss, Auburn, Florida, even Texas in downtown Austin, nothing is this bad.

Yeah, I just checked my e-mail.

I loved the "if you see something, say something". That's BS.

The cops that work on gamedays don't give a crap. You have a better chance of getting arrested for "bothering" a cop by "saying something" than the person who is actually committing a crime.

State Police will help. That's a start.

I do not know, I am not a "city planner", as they like to say. But I do know shutting down all but 3 or 4 routes off campus is not it. One thing that could help are multiple free shuttles from different parts of city. If even 2000 or 3000 used those that would help. Set up a lane once they are near campus to get the shuttles in and out fast, to encourage people to use them. Not everyone parking on campus is parking to set up or bring gear for their tailgate. They just park there. The only shuttle I am aware of is the Pastimes shuttle which sucks on the way back postgame. If they could get getting off campus down to 45 minutes or so, you would see a lot more people staying the whole game instead of leaving to avoid the nightmare.

I park by the band practice field. Previous years, I had no issues getting home. They quit opening the gates on the north end to allow traffic to get out. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get out the lot.

Don't know what was happening on Highland, but the cops made everyone turn to go through the hood with no cops directing traffic. Took me almost 2 hours to get to Central. Add all the weed smell and I am about to call it quits going to the games.

They should install a streetcar line in the Nicholson neutralgeound from LSU to downtown.

October 13, 2025

Dear LSU Family,

The safety and well-being of the LSU community is our number-one priority. At all times, we seek to ensure students, faculty, staff, fans, and visitors have a safe and positive experience when on our campus.

In light of recent events, we write to assure you that we maintain significant resources to ensure public safety. On game day, we typically have 600 trained on-duty police officers representing LSU Police, local law enforcement, and state agencies to safeguard our community. We take full advantage of advanced technologies, including license plate readers, camera networks, and upgraded lighting, which allows for real-time, campus-wide monitoring and rapid response. Our law enforcement presence is fully coordinated. If individuals commit crime on our campus, they will be arrested, and we will work diligently to ensure conviction.

In the coming days, we will continue to review our resources and protocols to maximize the safety of the daily campus experience. As a community, we must also look out for one another. If you see something that doesn’t look right, say something. By standing together and staying alert, we make LSU safer for everyone.

As we enhance our public safety protocols, we will communicate these changes to our constituents, ensuring our full commitment to protect everyone who comes to our campus.

Sincerely,

Scott Ballard, Chair Matt Lee
