West Coast schools only care about sports if there’s a mentally ill dude playing against chicks.

Was the paper in a Ledger? $ is all that matters to Universities and their TV deal gave the schools bunk to pay for all that other University stuff.

Two nay votes meant a potential member was excluded. Cal and Stanford made a pact to exclude religiously affiliated schools, so no BYU or TCU or SMU, or for that matter Gonzaga (with a plan to eventually join in football as well).

The PAC also didn't want Boise, UNLV, Texas Tech, etc due to academic snobbery.

Doesn't leave much in the way of potential new members, so when the B1G came calling, Southern Cal and UCLA were happy to jump. After that the remaining members saw the ship sinking and took whatever lifeboat was available.

This WSU is not a normal PAC 12 school either. This is a terrible iteration that is punking Ole Miss on the road. lol.

It was on life support long before that. Once they botched the tv deal/network the big brands were ripe for the picking.

Why do people on this board always do stuff like this?

I still cant believe the ACC was so stupid to extend Cal and Stanford a life raft. They add absolutely nothing and are not good at the sports that matter.

USC/UCLA and the Big 10 fricked everyone over to start and then they all started backstabbing each other while they went through a couple of god awful conference commissioners.

And now they're in a conference on the complete opposite side of the country with SMU, Boston College, Duke, Wake Forest, and even ND in non-football sports. Yes I know some of these schools have dropped their religious affiliations officially but if they had an issue with SMU who also did so then the rest should all count. Still funny to me their hard stance on it at least partially led them to their current predicament.

Try reading something on Reddit, Facebook, anything, and one of the first comments will be something like this or related to orange man.

It's tiresome, juvenile, and ubiquitous across all social platforms.

One reason is being on the left coast… they could never get nationwide interest playing in the late time slot

Well for one thing, they provide the ACC with west coast late night content.

Face it, you are going to watch the Cal - UNC game at 9:30 pm CT on ESPN next Friday night, if for no reason but to watch the trainwreck that is both programs.

Cal fans are pretty happy being in the ACC. Cal is going to be in the late night ESPN timeslot multiple times this season. TV exposure in the Pac 12 Network era was atrocious.

Even funnier, they have to slum with mediocre academic schools like Pitt and Louisville.
