Saw that China hasn't bought any Soybeans from US in 3 months... I know there are many soybean farmers in Louisiana.

Would be interested to hear from any farmers here that might have insight into what's going on, how they're pivoting/navigating, their thoughts for the future, etc.

Low commodity prices combined with high prices for chemical, fertilizer, equipment and land/rent has the whole grain industry struggling, even with record yields.

We gonna get some random soybean commercials soon like we did in the 90s with milk?

Bunch of school library posters with celebrities popping edamame beans.

I’m doing well, thanks for asking.
Diversifying is the key.
Corporate farmers are probably fricked.

My veterinarian is working his arse off on cows. When cattle prices are low, no one calls the vet. At current prices, they do all the time.

Well, they’ll say they’re doing horrible and starving to death. I’ve never seen a farmer starving to death…..

Not a farmer, but i have been watching Clarkson's farm on Amazon. This was going on during covid. Has nothing changed?

i don't understand how they ever do bad unless it has to do with a drought. Seems like food is always in demand. If their cost are up they should sell higher to offset the costs. If there is too much product to make money either change crops or do something else. Don't they get bailed out by the government most of the time anyway?
